Having both grandfathers working as master carpenters,
my father as a master electrician, and my mother as a
compulsive home redecorator, gave me on-the-job exposure
to building and finishing homes from the ground up. I was
passionate about design even before the age of 12. I spent
hours sketching my dream homes, always including a large
music room near the front of the home. I still believe this is
one of the most luxurious rooms any home could possess.
While my study and education lead me into graphic arts, that
work focused my attention on manipulating the eye through the
use of proportion, space, and color. An excellent beginning to
my career in interior design that began in 1989 when I opened

my first store, serving the San Jose area for upholstery and
drapery, Sterling Custom Interiors. Today I have focused my
attention on creating super-efficient and cost effective solutions
to kitchen design for the homeowner who needs creativity with
turnkey solutions for their busy lives.
